This Rat Race Series is dedicated to Raja Petra Kamaruddin who was instrumental in educating us on the inner workings of UMNO, without which many of the ideas would not have evolved.
The Rat Race Part VII - Wrapping up & navigating the landmines of 2010
PART I: NAVIGATING THE LANDMINES OF 2010
2009 has been a very momentous year. We started off the year in February with a BN grab for power in Perak in collusion with the Sultan of Perak. Much heat and drama was generated in the ensuing months. The case is still wending its way through the courts, which judging from the judges' behavior, does not give much hope for justice.
Abdullah Badawi was forced out as the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia with Muhyiddin fronting as the attack dog while Najib played his role as the “loyal assistant” to a T, all the while adding on to the pressure behind the scenes to force Badawi to quit. The UMNO warlords blamed everything on Badawi, ignoring their role in angering the people with their arrogance and corruption. Eventually, Najib took over the reins on 1st Apr 09. We had expected him to be forced out by Oct 09 and his longevity has surprised us.
He surprised us even further with his 1Malaysia programme, which seemed to have overcome the negativity suffered by him over the Altantuya case. In fact, after his successful take-over in Perak, he was seen to be on track to take-over Selangor…. until Teoh Beng Hock’s unfortunately death while in the custody of the MACC.
Another issue which blew up was the PKFZ case with costs projected to rise to RM 12.5 billion, making this the largest bailout in Malaysian history. Couple this is the fratricidal war within MCA which threatens to wipe out the already large irrelevant Chinese party. In addition to that are the mini-wars going on among the mosquito BN parties – MIC, Gerakan, PPP.
Meanwhile, the ongoing controversy over BTN threatens to make a farce of Najib’s 1Malaysia.
In desperation, UMNO and her War-machine (http://tindakmalaysia.com/tm_forums2008/index.php/topic,907.0.html) are trying to hunt down any person deemed to be a threat to them – RPK, Anwar, plus the Pakatan Rakyat MPs who were arrested for peaceful demonstrations or on imaginary corrupt acts.
Is it any wonder that many of us feel we are caught like this Rat…. http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp242/tindakmalaysia/rat%20race%20part%20vi/th_00RATINATRAP.jpg (http://s416.photobucket.com/albums/pp242/tindakmalaysia/rat%20race%20part%20vi/?action=view¤t=00RATINATRAP.jpg)
What about 2010? How are we to face the future
How do we process and interpret the masses of information that will be drowning us?
Help is at hand. Over the past 20 months, we have compiled enough information in Tindak Malaysia (http://tindakmalaysia.com/tm_forums2008/index.php) to enable us to create sufficient mental models to filter the information. Furthermore, although much critical information is cloaked in secrecy under the OSA, there is enough information in the public domain for us to identify trends. And trends can be our friends.
On top of that, we can study the situation in the US, where information is more forthcoming and where exists many intelligent and concerned people digging up hidden information and interpreting them. By studying these, we are able to construct a mental model that describes the Rat Race in Malaysia.

How do we interpret this model?
It will take a while but well-worth the time. Consider it as a filter to process information coming at us. We need to study it in conjunction with the other models that have been developed in The Conspiracy Forum, (http://tindakmalaysia.com/tm_forums2008/index.php/board,48.0.html) especially THE RAT RACE PARTS I TO III, (http://tindakmalaysia.com/tm_forums2008/index.php/topic,601.0.html) THE RAT RACE PART IV - THE PYRAMID, (http://tindakmalaysia.com/tm_forums2008/index.php/topic,626.0.html) THE RAT RACE PART V - THE MALAYSIAN RAT RACE, (http://tindakmalaysia.com/tm_forums2008/index.php/topic,718.0.html) THE RAT RACE PART VI – MALAYSIA: HOW DID UMNO STAY IN POWER FOR SO LONG?, (http://tindakmalaysia.com/tm_forums2008/index.php/topic,907.0.html) and finally, at the global level The Global Rat Race. (http://tindakmalaysia.com/tm_forums2008/index.php/topic,144.0.html)
To our left of the model, is the Government controlling us through the Laws and the Police. This is very apparent to most of us and we can feel it directly through the threat to our Freedom and well-being. Less obvious though, is the control through Bank Negara Malaysia and the banks, coming down from the top. The control is through the formula of the Rats trading their time for printed pieces of paper called “money”. This money is debased through inflation, a form of hidden tax.
To the left are the bosses who control the Rats through employment – jobs. The fear of unemployment and obsession with job security keep many Rats docile and compliant within the system.
And from the bottom is the stock exchange, KLSE, which is a giant casino designed to suck up the Rat’s hard-earned money through “investments”.
TRENDS
What are the trends that can be seen?
1. The US economy and the USD is extremely unstable due to the USD 600 trillion worth of derivatives created by the banking system, which threatens to crash the US financial system, dragging the whole global economy down with it. This is also described in Robert Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad’s Conspiracy of the Rich”.
2. 70% of the USD created by the US Treasury is held outside the US, which can drop to zero in a matter of days, weeks or months.
3. The crash will threaten the Malaysian banking system and Bank Negara since we hold at least 60% of our foreign reserves in USD. The balance are held in other foreign currencies which will also crash along with the USD. The only real money we hold is Gold (including gold deposits and, if appropriate, gold swapped) USD 1,167.20 million.
4. Those of us who hold savings in the banks or mutual funds will see most of it wiped out.
5. Many business will go bankrupt with consequent loss of millions of jobs.
6. UMNO knows the game is up. Hence the urgency to launch mega-projects to siphon off as much money as possible before their forced departure – think of the RM 7 billion LRT from Kelana Jaya to Putra Heights which is only 17km in length, and another muliti-billion RM section from Putra Heights to Cheras).
We owe it to ourselves to protect ourselves and our families. What can we do?
