THE ALBARS, LIKE FATHER LIKE SON ~ Ref: Malaysiakini
Syed Jaafar bin Hassan Albar was the father of the current controversial Home Minister, Syed Hamid Albar. His staunch defense of his political party, the United Malays National Organization (UMNO) which leads the governing Barisan Nasional coalition led to him being given the moniker "Lion of UMNO". Like his son, Syed Jaafar was also known for his radical views on Malay sovereignty over Malaysia, and Malay supremacy in politics. He is of Hadhrami Arab descent and came to Malaya from Indonesia as an immigrant just before World War 2 at the age of more than thirty.

Age is not a factor here PY. My great-granfather is Generation 1, my grandfather Generation 2, my father Generation 3 and so I am fourth generation Malaysian-born and bred so how can I be termed pendatang and penumpang? ???

I don't see why you say "pendatang" and "penumpang" are better terms than "parasit" and "lintah"? No one has the right to label any of these 4 terms on any fellow Malaysians... there is no better or worse terms. I disagree totally at your suggestions the terms are better...

I will not lower myself to their level of name-calling.... but they too should cease all these stupid racist acts of theirs but then looking at the current momentum in their divisional meetings.... semua sudah lupa.

PY UMNO has to maintain its Ketuanan Melayu stance in order to ensure the support from those groups that still subscribe to this agenda. Potraying the Chinese and Indians as pendatangs is their method of putting us in our place and satisfying those groups who feel that their claims to the rich resources in this country have been threatened..that we are just given the previlege but not the right to reside in this country. They have such a myopic view of the reality in the present political scenario..not many Malays are subscribing to this anymore. It is just an excuse to ensure that well connected Malays still get rich while the rest are doomed to wallow in their present status as rubber tappers, fishermen ..some of the poorest people in our country. Have they forgetten the original perjuangan of the Tunku when MIC, MCA and UMNO were on equal standing and everyone in this country have the opportunity to get ahead based on their own merit?

Besitai, like most people, it seems your knowledge of history is what UMNO wants you to know. Please read the Rat Race Part V Ch. 3: A Rats Look At Malayan History: http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?t=23079, Chapter 3.5 page 5.
There never was equality of power between UMNO, MCA & MIC.
Remember Mao Tze Tung's dictum? Power comes from the barrel of a gun!
