What to do if the SPR shift you out of your voting constituency without your approval?
Here's what an activist did. You need to hammer the SPR personally after submitting your Form B Claim Form. See page 192 of Election Laws (as at 1st Apr 2009) published by International Book Services.
I called the office of Haji Dzulkifli of SPR Selangor and spoke to his PA, Azimah. I had to fire fire, asking why my wife and I have been placed in different voting stations. On voting day, they cannot expect my wife to go looking for Taman Melati in Wangsa Maju while I vote in Desa Aman Puri. This human error should have been rectified the moment a complaint was lodged!
I noticed that Hj Dzulkifli prefers not to answer the phone despite being in the office; instead, his PA was the one who immediately made rectification to the record. According to her, the Voting Station for my wife has now been changed to Desa Aman Puri. See attached. However, when I go to http://daftarj.spr.gov.my/daftarj/daftar.aspx, the system might not have been updated now.
However, I feel it calls for further investigation by Ambiga and team from Bersih 2.0.
For members of the press, there is a phone number that Azimah has provided that you can call to get information. Tuan Hj Kamaruddin Hj Keling is the Director of ICT in Putrajaya tel: 03-88856636. Although we submitted a new form last year, and followed up with another complaint on March 16, this matter was not resolved. Why? According to Azimah, they have just gazetted the first quarters of voters, which means that my wife will have to wait for another three months before she is officially a voter in Desa Aman Puri.
I suggest Bersih 2.0 should immediate educate more people about the registration process and press for AUTOMATIC registration according IC address.
