If the government gives RM100,000 to each orphanage or old folks home in the country,
RM1,419,000,000 can be distributed to 14,190 such organizations... sheesh!

Read also the comments in the link - enlightening.

A lot of mumbo-jumbo. If the past is any guide, we need to be very suspciious.

Re: IS NAJIB FIT TO BE PM?

Getting there is the easy part for Najib

Ooi Kee Beng, OCT 18 — Barring any major scandals, Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak is poised to become Malaysia’s Prime Minister by next March.

At 55, the youngish and debonair Pahang aristocrat is achieving his goal at an age not uncommon for first-time Prime Ministers in Malaysia.

Of the five previous ones, three got into top office when they were around 54 to 56. Najib’s father, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, was the youngest ever, becoming Prime Minister at 48. Abdullah was the oldest, at 64.

Few in the upper echelons of power in Malaysia can match Najib’s political breeding. Not only is his father remembered by Malays in general as the man who laid the groundwork for Malay progress, Najib is also nephew-in-law of his father’s successor, the much respected Tun Hussein Onn.

He can get there provided he is not blown up by a scandal first.

Question is: Can he stay there?

Anwar will be breathing down his neck.

Up to now, especially after the statement from the Conference of Rulers, most Malaysians are beginning to lose hope....

Relax. We have tolerated 51 years of UMNO. What's a few more months?

    The US is in recession.
    Singapore is in recession.
China has started closing down many factories.
Europe is facing a financial crisis over her banks.

But we are not in recession. Is Malaysia floating on air?

    Najib: M’sia won’t face depression

PEKAN, Oct 19 – Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said today he was confident that Malaysia would not face an economic depression following the economic crisis faced by the United States and European countries currently.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that, as the Finance Minister, he would announce several measures to cushion off the effects of the world financial crisis tomorrow.

“There is certainly an impact (on the country due to the world financial crisis), but we can still hold on, and Malaysia is not expected to be dragged into the economic slowdown,” he said.

Next change from UMNOWood Productions: Police may be asked to investigate Malaysiakini over this hoohah.

Mind you, that manifesto was published in the first person, meaning that, apparently, Najib was quoted in it - "I will do this, I will do that".

Did someone try to set him up?

    Or he got cold feet?

Najib denies ‘manifesto’ that has country buzzing

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 — Umno presidential candidate frontrunner Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak’s office has denied a manifesto (http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/91588) that appeared in the Malaysiakini news portal which has set the country buzzing with its conservative stance.

The manifesto, among others, said Najib will defend Malay supremacy, set up a council of presidential advisers apart from denouncing a string of allegations against him and vowing to use all means to destroy elements that threaten the stability and peace of the country.

The more appropriate thing to do is for Najib to take leave of absence while investigation is carried out over the Eurocopter issue, he offers himself to testify in court over the Altantuya case and undergo an investigation over the submarine commission case. Until he does, he won't be able to function effectively as the Prime Minister.

Now, everywhere he goes, his detractors yell "Mongolia! Mongolia!" How can he show his face in international circles?

Tony Pua tells DPM to respect PAC independence

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 - DAP lawmaker Tony Pua urged Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to respect the independence and integrity of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in carrying out its investigations into the controversial RM2.3 billion Eurocopter deal.

Pua, who is a member of PAC, took to task Najib and his fellow Cabinet ministers for making a "total mockery of the parliamentary process that any scrutiny by the PAC requires the 'agreement' of the Cabinet."

He was responding to a statement made by the new Finance Minister yesterday. Najib had said that the Cabinet had given their approval for the PAC to look into the acquisition of the Eurocopter EC725 helicopters "as soon as possible".
