SPR: Mahfuz making up 'evil fairy tales', says EC

There is too much smoke created over the years. A mere denial will not settle the issue. Have a Royal Commission of Inquiry. If the EC is really innocent, they should welcome it. The Government should proceed with this to prove that the EC is 'clean'!

Mahfuz making up 'evil fairy tales', says EC

EC deputy chairperson Wan Ahmad Wan Omar has vehemently denied claims by PAS MP for Pokok Sena, Mahfuz Omar, that he is involved in a ‘task force' to naturalise foreigners to allow them to vote.

In a text message to Malaysiakini, Wan Ahmad (right) said Mahfuz, who named him at a press conference yesterday, had purposely dragged him into the MP's "fairy tale" meant to "tarnish the EC's integrity".

"This is an evil and irresponsible thing done by Mahfuz... I don't know anything about what he is accusing me of.

"He purposely dragged me, as EC deputy chairperson, into the tale which he made up to gain political mileage, because he wanted to implicate the commission," he said late yesterday.

Stressing the EC's independence, Wan Ahmad said he will seek the counsel of the commission's legal advisers before deciding on his next course of action.

    Mahfuz seeks royal commission

Wan Ahmad is among eight individuals named as being part of the said taskforce.

The others, whose names are withheld by Malaysiakini pending their comments, are senior officials of the National Security Council (NSC) and National Registration Department (NRD).

Another person named is an aide of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

In the press conference, Mahfuz claimed that he had evidence to implicate the individuals but will only reveal it in a royal commission of inquiry.
There has been numerous allegations of foreigners being given citizenship in return for voting for the ruling coalition, in particular Sabah.

Mahfuz stands by 'instant citizens task force' claim

Despite denials by the Election Commission, PAS vice president Mahfuz Omar has insisted that a task force had been set up to give instant citizenship to foreigners for the purpose of registering themselves as voters.

The Pokok Sena member of parliament defended his claim in which he named EC deputy chief Wan Ahmad Wan Omar, officials from the National Registration Department, National Security Council and an aide to the prime minister, as being involved in the task force.

He said only a royal commission of inquiry would be able to get to the truth of the allegations.

“Their denial proves my allegation. They can deny, but let a RCI deal with,” Mahfuz told a press conference at the parliament lobby today.

Wan Ahmad had strongly denied the claim, calling Mahfuz's allegation a ploy to further discredit the Commission.

Mahfuz however responded by saying that Wan Ahmad had not denied that such a task force existed, as well as the act of bestowing instant citizenship.

“I ask him to sit with me (to establish a RCI) immediately,” he said.

Another individual, secretary of the NSC Mohamed Thajudeen Abdul Wahab, dismissed Mahfuz’s allegation as a lie.

“I don’t know anything,” he said.

Mahfuz’s colleague Salahuddin Ayub said prime minister Najib Razak must be held accountable over the task force's existence.

“When the task force gives citizenship to foreigners to allow them to vote in the election, it’s impossible those who benefited from it would vote for other parties (than BN).

"Most importantly, it is impossible such task force exists without the blessing of the prime minister due to the involvement of high profile individuals,” said the Kubang Kerian MP.

PAS information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man meanwhile said the party viewed Mahfuz’s revelation seriously and urged the government to set up a RCI to investigate the matter.

He added any act of undermining the country's sovereignty must be treated with utmost seriousness.
The Pahang PAS commissioner added that a memorandum would be forwarded to the Ruler' Council as soon as possible to push for the establishment of RCI.

In 1946, UMNO sold us to the British. Today, they are trying to sell us off to the Banglas and Indons in their desperate quest to hang on to power. They succeeded in Sabah and they are trying to replicate their success on the Peninsula.

    The great scam

The mission of 'Task Force MyKad' is to give instant citizenship to illegals and foreign workers with the purpose of putting their names onto the electoral roll.

As he is not confident that the rakyat are wholeheartedly supporting Barisan Nasional, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak has embarked on a very ambitious plan that is detrimental to each and every Malaysian citizen. And that is none other than the “Great Citizenship Scam”.

PAS Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar has earlier this month exposed the scam and named the Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman, Wan Ahmad Wan Omar, as one of the masterminds of this great scam.

Wan Ahmad has denied being a mastermind but Mahfuz has upped the ante by saying that Wan Ahmad only denies being a mastermind but has not denied the existence of the scam under the code name of “Task Force MyKad”, which is also in cahoots with the National Registration Department (NRD).

The mission of “Task Force MyKad” is to give instant citizenship to illegals and foreign workers (legal as well as illegal) with the purpose of putting their names into the voters roll so as to enable them to vote.

And all these shenanigans were going on while the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) was having meetings with the purpose of electoral reform!

This means that the joke is on the rakyat and we have been cheated big-time by none other than Najib.

While promising us electoral reform, the EC under Najib’s instructions was in fact sabotaging the rakyat.

This is because recently on April 6 in a ceramah in Kedah, Mahfuz has named the Najib’s adviser Osman Razak, National Security Council secretary Tajuddin Wahab, EC’s Wan Ahmad and a few top NRD officers as part of “Task Force MyKad”.

Mahfuz stressed that he is daring in revealing this scam because he has solid evidence and this shows that Najib is cheating the rakyat. Therefore without much further ado, the PAS central working committee has decided to set up an ad hoc team called Anti-Pemalsuan IC (API) to collate information on this “Great Citizenship Scam”.

Mahfuz himself is leading the team. Among the team members are Hanifa Maidin (PAS legal counsel), Hatta Ramli (PAS Kuala Krai MP who was also in the PSC), Suhaizan Kaiat (Johor PAS Youth), Zul Hasmi and a few others who will be joining as the need arises.

    Seeking Ruler’s intervention

Since 2010 when PKR’s Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin discovered a plot to give citizenship to 2,000 foreign workers in Hulu Selangor, Pakatan Rakyat has been asking the BN government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate this MyKad scam.

Even in October last year, PAS Youth has discovered that busloads of foreign workers were being taken to the NRD in Putrajaya under suspicious reasons.

Of course the goverment will not be setting up any RCI as they themselves are the ones behind this scam.

In a recent interview with Harakah, Mahfuz mentioned that he and his team will try to arrange a meeting with the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal so that they can submit a memorandum to the Council of Rulers to request for a RCI to be set up.

“This IC scam jeopardises the nation’s sovereignty. It is a very serious offence and places the country in a very great danger. Immediate steps must be taken to expose and stop this scam which is operating in the PM’s office itself and is headed by the PM’s righthand man,” said Mahfuz.

Mahfuz added that the people behind the IC scam which is Umno-BN is selling the nation and the “adat-istiadat raja-raja” and he urged as many of the rakyat as possible to attend the Bersih 3.0 sit-in at Dataran Merdeka on April 28.

Meanwhile, PAS Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad has labelled the masterminds of the “citizenship scam” as “traitors to the nation” and hopes that there will be a massive turnout for the Bersih event.

Khalid slammed Umno for sabotaging the PSC as well as sabotaging the rakyat, adding that there are those who accused the Bersih organisers and participants of being traitors whereas in fact the traitors are those who cheat in order to stay in power.

Mahfuz, who already has three thick files on the scam, has announced that he will give all the information which he has collated to the RCI if it is set up.

It is now as clear as day that Najib’s 1Malaysia slogan should be amended to “1Asia” as he is hellbent on giving citizenship to nationals from Asian countries.

Where countries across the globe impose stringent conditions before granting citizenship to the applicants, the BN government is granting citizenship to illegals and foreign workers at the drop of a hat as long as they pledge to vote BN.
